Poland has overtaken El Salvador to become the fifth country in the world with the most cryptocurrency ATMs, behind the United States, Canada, Australia and Spain. This comes after 27 new machines were added to the country on January 10, bringing the total to 219.
Over the past four months, 24 crypto ATMs have been installed in Poland, according to data Bitcoin ATM Radar, the number of devices grew in other countries as well.
The US and Canada remain first and second in the rankings with 30 and 780 devices, respectively. Australia has entered the top three after surpassing 3 crypto ATMs in the country in April 062.
Notably, El Salvador has lost its respectable fifth place. After the country took third place in the ranking in October 2022, the number of active devices has dropped significantly and today has fallen to 215.
There are currently around 38 crypto ATMs operating worldwide. They are located in 100 countries and are serviced by 65 operators.
While crypto ATMs do not affect the spread of digital assets in the country, they make it much easier for investors to access crypto services. At the same time, regulators periodically confiscate the devices, claiming that they are used for money laundering and terrorist financing.
