Spanish businessman He accused crypto exchange in withholding his €67,550 (about $71,000) investment in 2021, and the judge found there was evidence to file a formal claim against the platform.

According to the case file, the Spanish court is considering the businessman’s complaint, which he filed two years ago. He accuses the platform of never providing him with an access code to his account.

According to the businessman, he tried to get the money back for two years. However, nothing worked, so he had to defend his rights in court. Judge Maria Angeles Velasquez concluded that the motives Binance in this case can be considered criminal, and decided to continue the trial.

Now, within ten days, the plaintiff and his team of lawyers must collect the evidence they have and request a preventive measure for Binance. After this, Velasquez will determine whether Binance engage in a formal legal dispute with the Spanish court system. However, if the Spanish businessman does not provide enough evidence, the judge may dismiss the claim.

Exchange Binance has been operating in for several years now, and this is not the first time the platform and its founder have had conflict with the Spanish judicial system. Changpeng Zhao was named in another lawsuit for misappropriation of funds in 2022, but that case was settled out of court.
